About Kronk

Kronk is a small Mastodon fork run by and for a small community that believes social software should be built by the people who use it.

We are not a company. We are not an app. We are a set of choices about what a fediverse instance can look like when its architecture is aligned with the people it serves rather than the people it sells to.

What makes Kronk different

• Korners — feature spaces (Kommons for governance, Kalendar for events, Booth for music) each declared via a manifest so the platform's shape is legible and shipping something new means writing a YAML file, not lobbying for a redesign.
• Structural no-surveillance — no tracking, no analytics, no algorithmic manipulation. Not "we promise not to"; the data isn't structured for it.
• Federation — Kronk speaks ActivityPub. You can follow us from any Mastodon instance; we federate with any peer we choose to.

The rebuild

Kronk 2.0.0 is a rebuild of the framework the platform is built on. The manifesto, values, and non-negotiables you'll find in this section are its principles.
